Ownership


As the owner of Anfield and founder of Liverpool, John Houlding was the club's first chairman, a position he held from its founding in 1892 until 1904. John McKenna took over as chairman after Houlding's departure. McKenna subsequently became President of the Football League.The chairmanship changed hands many times before John Smith, whose father was a shareholder of the club, took up the role in 1973.

LIVERPOOL AT EUROPE LEAGUE

Liverpool Football Club, an English professional association football club, is Britain's most successful team in Union of European Football Association (UEFA) competitions. Since 1964, they have won eleven European trophies: the UEFA Champions League (formerly known as the European Cup) five times, the UEFA Europa League (formerly known as the UEFA Cup) three times, and the UEFA Super Cup three times.

RESERVES TEAM

Liverpool Reserves played in the FA Premier Reserves League. The Reserves won the regional division title in 2000 and again in 2008 winning also the national league that year. It competed in the Lancashire Combination from 1896 to 1911, with the exception of the 1898–99 season, in which it joined The Combination. From 1911 on, it took part in the Central League until becoming inaugural members of the Premier Reserve League North in 1999. It also used to participate in the Liverpool Senior Cup and the Lancashire Senior Cup; the last time it took part in them was the 2009–10 season when it also won both competitions.

MIRACLE OF FINAL CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2005 AT ISTANBUL

HILLSBOROUGH TRAGEDY

The 1989 Hillsborough disaster was an incident that occurred during the FA Cup semi-final match between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest football clubs on 15 April 1989 at the Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield, England. The crush resulted in the deaths of 96 people and injuries to 766 others. The incident has since been blamed primarily on the police. The incident remains the worst stadium-related disaster in British history and one of the world's worst football disasters.

HEYSEL TRAGEDY

Heysel tragedy happened on May 29, 1985 at that time it was going on the match between Liverpool and Juventus in the Champions Cup (now Champions League). This event is opaque football history in the UK, because at that time English clubs were victorious-prime. ANFIELD STADIUM



Anfield is the name of the stadium is located in the city of Liverpool, England. The stadium is home to the football club Liverpool FC since the club was founded in 1892. The stadium was originally home to Everton FC from 1884 until 1892 when Everton moved to Goodison Park stadium. Very successful until the early 90s, a stadium that Liverpool had so proud.
